The Boss

The Boss, starring the amazing Melissa McCarthy as Michelle Darnell - you bet your lungs I got cracked the hell up! A hilariously captivating movie by an amazing actress who succeeds every time to make comedy more than laughter. Inducing as a trade mark, lessons to learn from every character she plays. And “The Boss” is no different.

The movie portrays a strong, self-reliant, adaptable, driven, cold, disturbed business woman who worked her way up the corporate ladder not taking shit from nobody and when she arrived at the top it seemed as if “shit” was all the dish she had to serve. Quite deservingly, she got cons for friends and only realized whom her real friend were when the going got tough. She remained on that tough road still, only this time she had help from her assistant;l - Claire and her daughter Rachel.

Paint a picture of the movie for yourself with a speech from Michelle Darnell “My name is Michelle Darnell and I am the 47th richest woman in America. …how did I get to my success level? What’s my secret? I work myself silly! Number one: you work your ass off to get what you want, number two: you do not let other people drag you down because they will…” this orientation giving at the starting scenes of the movie seemed a little bit proud-ish but it is the soul of the entire movie. Right after that speech her entire business empire was sucked into a black hole engineered by hatred, envy and as funny as this may sound, love. She was stripped of all the glory and power that made her “Michelle Darnell” and she was left at the bottom to wallow in self-pity, or so they thought.

A lady should be considered a man if she has the 'balls' to stand up to one. Michelle Daniels balls were king sized.  She just refused to stay down, what’s your excuse? You know when it comes down to it you'll find that there is a little bit of "Michelle Daniel" in every woman, some higher than most.  I would give a long motivational speech but I think the movie says more for itself than I can possibly write.

Real quick, who is The Boss? – An orphan? Check, bad ass business woman? Check check, defeated? Check, ability to rise back up? Check, potential to seize an opportunity? Check, check, great sense of humor? Check, check, check, good looking? Check, check, check, check…. Ladies and gentlemen meet Michelle Darnell, The Boss.
So… ill need you folks to watch this movie if you haven’t. Watch it, experience it and share it on Scene Bug. See ya!!
